How to get a podcast.

1. Download software that allows you to subscribe to the podcast you want.
Podcast software searches the web to find the latest update of the show you want, for example, the latest programme in a radio series.

You will have to download and install this software to be able to subscribe to podcasts, and download the latest shows.

There are a number of applications that allow you to access podcasts, for a list of of them from www.podcastingnews.com .

2. Input the podcast "feed" to your podcast software.
Once you have downloaded the software you will have to subscribe to the podcasts that you are interested in.

First you will need to find the address of the feed, this will normally be located on the podcast's website. There will be a "Subscribe to Podcast" option somewhere in the application you have installed. Enter the address of the feed in here and then the software will automatically access the podcast and download the latest edition.

Please click here  and copy the link to your podcast software for The Gaelic Hour Podcasts or enter
http://www.thegaelichour.ca/podcasts.xml

Your software will automatically inform you of any new editions to the podcast without the need to subscribe again.

3. Listen to your podcast
The podcast will be downloaded in mp3 format, once the download is fully complete you can simply listen to the programme on your computer, or transfer the mp3 file to a portable device (mp3 player, iPod etc) to listen to at your convenience.
